About the Courses

The Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry (Concentration in Information Technology) at St. Francis College is designed to expose the student to computational resources which would enable knowledge of collecting, disseminating, and analyzing observational or experimental data, or data from models or simulations in scientific research.

Chemistry is fundamental to our understanding and exploration of the natural world, and to solving the medical, health and environmental problems that we currently face as a society. Chemistry is sometimes called the “central science,” because it connects other scientific disciplines to each other, such as biology, physics, geology, and neuroscience. There are many reasons to study chemistry, even if you aren’t pursuing a career in science.
