As part of your introduction to the industry, you’ll perform in a public production, take part in an industry showcase, and receive a professional showreel and voice reel. Additionally, as a graduate of the Acting for Stage and Screen course, you will receive a Spotlight membership.
The course combines practical development workshops with regular performance projects, putting you at the centre of your artistic development. Your performance projects will include:
Level 4: a devised performance piece and an adaptation of an established text
Level 5: perform to school audiences as you take two projects on tour
Level 6: perform to a public audience including industry guests, friends and family.
Throughout your training, you will investigate established and new texts, as well as performance practices from around the world, in an inclusive way. You’ll work holistically and intensively, developing your skills as an actor and theatre/film-maker. You will also learn to market yourself and your work to the performing arts industry. The course is recognised by Equity and Spotlight.
Dialogue between students, industry and academia is essential to the course, and we will facilitate the development of creative partnerships both within and outside of the University to create new knowledge, produce new work and generate career opportunities.
