Overview

Combine theory with practice as you develop skills in a way that suits you through hands-on projects in our film and animation studios. Through conferences and events, you’ll have the opportunity to meet industry professionals and benefit from insider knowledge through our links with BAFTA-winning regional animation studios and mentoring by game developers.

You’ll use our Motion Performance Centre to direct motion capture shoots and have access to specialist hardware such as lightboxes, industry-standard graphics tablets, film equipment and our sound recording studio.

Learn how to use industry standard software and motion capture technologies such as Maya, Zbrush, Adobe suite, Toon Boom and Marvellous Designer.

You’ll have the chance to create your own films, games and music videos. In your final year, showcase your work to industry professionals at our annual Arts Degree Show and experience professional networking which may lead to work in the industry.

Throughout the course, you’ll be working on industry briefs for animation and game development, whilst being supported to find your own passion. You’ll have individual tutorials which focus on project planning, and academic and career support from your Personal Academic Tutor.

By the time you graduate, you’ll have built an industry-standard portfolio of work, networked with students from our other film and media courses, and met with industry professionals. You’ll be set for an exciting career within the film and gaming industry.
